Pat McCormick spent a good portion of the first 30 years of his life surfing the beaches of California, serving his country in Viet Nam, graduating from California State University at Long Beach and working for the City of Beverly Hills before he found the H.V.A.C. industry.
Pat has been actively perfecting his talents in the industry since 1976. The first eleven years were focused on in-home sales with a progressive contractor in Southern California where Pat quickly became the top performer, Sales Manager, and Branch Manager. He found his calling as he developed training programs for the service and sales departments.
He wasted no time in bringing his sales training expertise to his dealers after joining Lennox Industries in 1987 as a Territory Manager. The training was expanded in 1988 when Pat became a Dealer Marketing Advisor. In 1990 Pat became a District Sales Manager and spearheaded the opening of a new facility in the Los Angeles area.
In 1992 Pat became the National Retail Sales Manager and created the Sales Excellence Advisors League (SEAL program). During the Leagues first year he perfected a five-day workshop, The High Efficiency Sales Presentation, which graduated over 800 retail sales people. League members more than doubled the sales, in all Lennox regions, over their counterparts. Sales continued to soar in the Leagues second year when Pat launched Service Tech Selling, Advanced Closing and Sales Reinforcement workshops.
After 18 years of experience in the H.V.A.C. industry, Pat reached one of his major goals as he started his own company-Sales Excellence Training (SET). From 1994-98 SET customized and conducted training programs for contractors, distributors and manufacturers all over North America. SET continued to prosper when Pat joined forces with Blue Dot Services, a major consolidator, at the end of 1998. For four years SET worked exclusively with Blue Dot to develop a complete retail sales system that is unparalleled in the industry.
